’12 Years a Slave’ and ‘Brokeback Mountain’ Outfit Joins River Road Identity Drama ‘Unicorns’, First Look Revealed at EFM With CAA Directing

Set against a London underground subculture, the film follows the double life of a queer performer (Patel) and a single father (Hardy) working as a mechanic, whose lives collide after a chance encounter.
“When Laura Windows, our casting director, introduced us to Jason, we knew we had found our unicorn. Jason poured his heart and soul into it. Her amazing chemistry with Ben Hardy shines through on screen. Ben’s mesmerizing performance is really great. This is Ben Hardy, as you’ve never seen him before,” said Sally L. Bill Pohlad’s River Road will produce alongside Trudy Styler and Celine Rater’s maven Screen Media and Philip Hurd’s Chromatic Aberration. Bill Pohlad, Kim Roth and Krista Workman joined Heard, Rattray and Styler as producers. Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot) executive producer.
Patel, who is weird, with stage credits The Jungle Book And Peter Pan. He was one of the BBC Asian Network’s ‘Artist of the Week’ in 2022 and his debut EP will be released in 2023.
