Damon Wayans & Damon Wayans Jr. The father/son comedy has received a pilot order at CBS
CBS ordered its first comedy pilot this season, and it’s the network’s highest-profile scripted talent duo, Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. Four months after Deadline , the father-son project is in development at CBS, a multi-camera comedy co-written by elder Owens and former Last Man Standing Executive producer Kevin Hench, remains untitled.
It centers on a legendary talk radio host and happily divorced “Pappa” (Wayens) whose views are challenged when a new female co-host is hired, and at home where she finds herself still parenting her grown son (Wayens). See Jr.), a brilliant dreamer trying to follow his passion while being a responsible father and husband.
Wayans, Hench and Wayans Jr. executive produce. CBS Studios, where Wayans Jr.’s Two Shakes Entertainment has been based since its launch, is the studio. Cameron Turlow, VP Production, for Two Shakes will oversee the project.

Owens’ father/son comedy joins two CBS drama pilot orders this season: Elsbeth, Starring Carrie Preston, and matlock, Headline by Kathy Bates. The order comes amid a resurgence of multi-camera comedies, due to the recent success of shows like it Night Court And That 90s show.
It marks the veteran Wayans’ return to network comedy after co-creating, executive producing and starring at ABC. My wife and children, which ran for five seasons on ABC from 2001-05.
