‘Dark Side of the Moon’ was recorded by Roger Waters without the other Pink Floyd members

One of rock’s greatest albums was allegedly re-recorded by its chief architects.

Roger Waters claims in an interview that he re-recorded Pink Floyd’s classic rock epic dark side of the moon Except for any other members of Pink Floyd. Waters revealed in an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung on February 4. The interview was translated and published on Waters’ official website.

By re-recording the work — something artists like Taylor Swift and Prince did — Waters gained more control over his version of the work, something that had long been a bone of contention between him and the other band members.

Waters told Berliner Zeitung that “the new concept is a reflection of the meaning of the work, to bring out the heart and soul of the album,” adding, “musically and spiritually.”

Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985. He later sued the remaining members to continue using the band name. He lost the case.

Polly Samson, wife of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, posted a tweet on Monday calling Waters anti-Semitic, “a Putin apologist and a liar, thief, hypocrite, tax-avoidant, lip-syncing, misogynistic, sick-jealous, megalomaniac.”

“Every word is clearly true,” Gilmer responded to his wife’s comments on Twitter.

The new water version of “Dark Side of the Moon” will be released in May, according to The Telegraph.
