Edinburgh TV Festival 2023 Advisory Chairs unveiled
The Edinburgh TV Festival has unveiled Channel 4 strategy boss Kiran Natrajah as its 2023 Advisory Chair.
Nataraja, who is the broadcaster’s director of content strategy and planning, will oversee the panel sessions and keynotes for the annual festival which has been extended to four days this year. It will run from August 22 to 25 and the theme is The Passion and The Power of TV.
Nataraj joined it Gogglebox In 2011 he worked his way up to run planning and scheduling teams while developing commissioning strategies across the Channel 4 portfolio, including broadcaster and VoD player All4.
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with TV,” Natraj said.
“I was endlessly fascinated by the different worlds and voices on screen. I am honored to take on this role to explore the passion and responsibility we all share to create powerful shows that can make a positive difference for an audience.”
Edinburgh executive chair Fatima Salaria called him an “influential and approachable figure”.
“Kiran, and people like him, are the heartbeat of the industry,” he added. “He doesn’t know what our shows are about and doesn’t deserve to know how audiences respond to them.”
Last year’s edition of the annual TV get together was chaired by broadcaster and journalist Afua Hirsch and since 2019 it has been held as the first person.
