Harry Styles and his dancers had a Grammy problem with his big number, but won

Sunday was a night to remember for Harry Styles, who took home album of the year and five other trophies at the 65th annual Grammy Awards.

But it was not a perfect moment. During her performance of her hit “As It Was” from the album Harry’s houseThings got confusing on the technical end.

Styles isn’t complaining, but his dancers took to social media to reveal that the performance almost ended in disaster. Its stage was a rotating turntable, with Harry and his dancers on the platform. But what no one counted on was that the spin direction was changed from the one that was rehearsed

“The moment the curtain opened and it was time to perform, the turntable started spinning in the opposite direction,” dancer Brandon Mathis said on Instagram. “Back. Live television annoys all of us. And there’s nothing we can do to stop it. So after a week of rehearsing this piece going perfectly like this, while performing it, it started going. [the other] way and in real-time, we have to solve the problem and try to make a complete part in contrast. Talk about professionalism.”

Another dancer, Dexter, posted on TikTok that they practiced going counter-clockwise “many times” until “it was flawless and beautiful.”

The dancers tried to get the attention of the turntable technician, but nothing was done.

“Luckily, we worked together and did our best and got into a great formation in time for the overhead shot but the rest had to be changed, and Harry did his best to be able to walk backwards while singing. “
