Lionsgate’s Adele Lim comedy headlines, first-look film

Named Lionsgate joy ride Marks its feature directorial debut as the title of its upcoming comedy Crazy Rich Asian Author Adele Lim. The studio unveiled the first still from the film on Monday, which you can watch below.

The film will be released on June 23 by Ashley Park (Emily in Paris), Sherry Cola (good trouble2023 Oscar nominee Stephanie Hu (In Everything Everywhere All At Evening) and Sabrina Wu as four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure. When Audrey (Park) gets sidetracked on a business trip to Asia, she enlists the help of Lolo (Kola), her irreverent, childhood best friend who also happens to be a hot mess; Cat (Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star; and Dedei (w), Lolo’s eccentric cousin. Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging and wild confusion that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know who you are and love.

Point Gray and Red Mysterious Hippo also starred Ronnie Chiang (Crazy Rich Asian), Desmond Chiam (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Alexander Hodge (insecure) and Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asian) script by Cheri Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao was based on a story by Chevapravatdumrong, Hsiao and Lim. The film is produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Josh Fagen, Chevapravatdumrong, Seo and Lim.

Lionsgate recently released the title with Gerard Butler in action plain and action rom-coms shotgun wedding With Jennifer Lopez. Among those coming next for release by the studio Jesus is the revolution (February 24), John Wick: Chapter 4 (March 24), the directorial debut of Ray Romano Somewhere in Queens (April 21) and the Judy Bloom adaptation Are you God there? It’s me, Margaret (April 28).
