‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’: Channing Tatum Says Salma Hayek Pinault “Saved Our Movies”

“That was it for how we are in this story,” Tatum said Entertainment tonight In an interview “I really wanted the strongest [woman] And he came in [and] actually controls the whole thing.”
Tatum continued, “She came in and saved our movie because we had a bunch of men trying to tell a story about a woman.”
Thandie Newton was initially cast opposite Tatum but dropped out of the film due to personal reasons, with Hayek Pinault joining in his place.
“I went in and you know what, [it was the] For the first time I feel that I am truly heard, respected and invited,” Hayek said. “It was actually very interesting because we would get together and have so many different opinions. It was very interesting to see three different men have such different perspectives. [Although] Sometimes they seem like the perspective of the Martians.”
Hayek Pinault also recently revealed that while filming a steamy lap dance scene, he was “almost killed” by his co-star.
“You know, there’s this one part that’s not in it where I’m upside down, and my feet have to be somewhere. But on the flip side, one loses direction, and I don’t do what I’m supposed to do, so in rehearsal, I go down, almost hit my head,” he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Hayek said,[Tatum] Kept my pants on, but I was really worried because my pants were coming off, and I couldn’t remember if I had underwear on at the moment. So, instead of putting my hands to protect my head, I just put on my pants. He’s like, ‘Put your hands up,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no.'”
