Exclusive: Ahead of EFM, Mossbank kicks off international sales for Michael Rothstein and Sam Hall’s action-thriller AzraelStarring Samara Weaving (ready or not) will be co-represented by CAA Media Finance and UTA Domestic.
Details about the movie have been kept under wraps till date but we can now reveal the plot and a first look image. Currently in post-production, the film is set in a world where no one speaks and follows a pious female-led sect that preys on a young woman who escapes from her imprisonment. Reclaimed by its ruthless leaders, Azrael (Bunon) must sacrifice himself to appease an ancient evil deep in the surrounding wilderness – but he has other ideas.

As we first revealed last year, Jason Cloth and Dave Kaplan’s C2 Motion Picture Group (Babylon) won the rights to the project in a competitive bidding scenario last fall and fully financed and produced the film.

Cloth and Kaplan’s C2 Motion Picture Group recently co-financed Paramount Babylon, which also stars Weaving alongside Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde and Tobey Maguire.
