Police: Active shooter at Michigan State University, multiple shots fired, injuries reported

Michigan State University Police said this evening that shots fired were reported at multiple locations on campus and that a gunman is on foot. The Associated Press, The New York Times and The Washington Post are reporting injuries associated with the event. Students have been instructed to shelter in place.

An initial statement from campus police said the shooting occurred near Berkey Hall on the East Lansing campus. A subsequent post on Twitter by University Police indicated, “Another reported shooting at IM East. Police are responding. Multiple injuries were reported.”
