‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ is returning to 90-minute episodes after a fan revolt
RuPaul’s Drag Race Returning to 90-minute episodes following angry backlash from fans that episodes were shortened to 60 minutes. Episodes of the hit reality competition series ranged from Season 10 to Season 14 and were 90 minutes long.
The show announced the change on its official Twitter feed on Thursday morning. “Get ready, racers. #DragRace returns for 90-minutes beginning Friday March 10 at 8/7c on @MTV.”
The initial change to shorter episodes was announced by MTV in early January. This was created to allow for his new series A true friend of WeHo, wind in Drag Race And Untucked. The reason for the short episodes is to lean on the opportunity to create a destination night using an existing hit franchise to launch a new series. A true friend of WeHoSources close to the production said the deadline.
Some fans celebrated the news that the longer episodes were returning, but others weren’t happy that the extended episodes would take another month.
The show has already aired six short episodes with the seventh set to premiere on Friday
Season 15 is on RuPaul’s Drag Race 16 new queens are competing for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and a $200,000 cash prize – the most in major franchise history. Guest judges include Ali Wong, Amandla Stenberg, Harvey Guillen, Hayley Kiyoko, Julia Garner, Janelle Monae, Maren Morris, Megan Stolter and Orville Peck.
