Sarah Michelle Gellar says Dolly Parton was an uncredited producer on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’

Sarah Michelle Gellar talks about how Dolly Parton was a producer Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

During a visit The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonGeller was asked if Parton was an uncredited producer on the show she starred in for seven seasons.

“Yes, little known fact, the legendary Dolly Parton was a producer,” he said on the NBC late-night show. “We never saw him [but] We’d get Christmas presents in the beginning that would have our names on them, and I’d think, ‘She doesn’t even know who I am.’ And then one day, someone asked him about it and he praised the show and my performance. I was like, ‘Oh, I could die now. Dolly Parton knows who I am and thinks I’m fine.’

Sandola Productions, which Parton started with her then-business partner Sandy Gallin, was behind Mutant Enemy Productions and the supernatural drama for 20th Century Fox Television. Also BuffyParton’s production company was also credited the angel spinoff that ran for 5 seasons.

There were other TV shows produced by Sandola Tourist trap And All-American Girl Starring Margaret Cho. Sandola was also behind the film as a production bride’s father (and its sequels), sabrina, kicking and screaming, Fly away home And shine through.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Buffy revolves around Summers, a high school teenager who becomes the chosen one to fight evil forces.

The teen drama was created by Joss Whedon and is based on the Fran Rubel Kuzuy 1992 film of the same name, which Whedon also wrote. The WB aired the show’s first five seasons before moving to UPN for two more seasons.
