‘Shri Aashih’: Disney+ Hotstar’s superhero flick heads to EFM, premieres to launch global sales

Exclusive: Premier Entertainment Group has acquired world sales rights to the Indonesian superhero action film Shri AsihStarring Pevita Pearce, and will go on sale at EFM

The film, produced by Indonesian production company Screenplay Bumilangit in association with SK Global, was released theatrically on 1,270 screens in Indonesia in November and is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar in Indonesia and select Asian territories.

Shri Asih This is the second installment from Bumilangit Cinematic Universe (BCU), a series of superhero films drawn from a library of over 500 comic book characters published by Indonesian content company Bumilangit, following hooligan (2019).

The film follows Alana (Pierce), a young woman trying to find her own identity in a world of crime and corruption. He is also the reincarnated goddess Asih, protector of the people and tasked with preventing a demonic spirit commander from releasing the fire goddess from captivity inside a volcano.

Indonesian filmmaker Upi Aviento directed and co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Joko Anwar, who directed hooligan. Anwar Bismarca produced the film alongside Kurniawan and Vicky V. Olindo.

Michael Hogan, Winnie Lau, John Pennotti and Charlie Corwin executive produced the film for SK Global, who provided financing. Lisbeth Cimmermata, Martin Suharli and Ricky Vijaya also served as executive producers.
