‘St. Denise’s medical comedy from Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin has received a pilot order at NBC
NBC has ordered a pilot St. Denis MedicalA half-hour satire-style workplace comedy from Superstore And American Auto The duo of Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin. The pilot is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studios Group, with both Spitzer and Ledgin having overall deals.
Spitzer and Lezin wrote, St. Denis Medical It’s a mockumentary about an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital where dedicated doctors and nurses do their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity.
Spitzer will also executive produce Ledgin under his Universal TV-based production banner Spitzer Holding Company. Simon Heuer, head of TV development at Spitzer Holding Company, will also executive produce.
St. Denis Medical Previously received a pilot production commitment from NBC last year. It marks the latest NBC project for Spitzer, whose first writing credit was an episode of NBC’s medical comedy series scrub. He later joined NBC and Universal Television’s mockumentary Workplace Comedy the office He remained on the Emmy-winning series for its ninth and final season as an executive story editor beginning in season 3 and as a co-executive producer. Spitzer also created two other comedy series at work for NBC and Universal Television, serving as executive producer and showrunner. Superstore And American Auto — which recently debuted its second season in January.
Ledgin served as co-executive producer at UTV Rutherford Falls For Peacock and he also serves as an executive producer American Auto. Earlier he worked as a writer-producer Mrs Fletcher, Superstore And It’s always sunny in Philadelphia And was also a writer Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Heuer joined Spitzer Holding Company last year from NBC, where he started as a page and worked his way up to VP of comedy development. While at the network, he had a hand in creating several comedies, including Superstore, The Good Place, AP Bio, Marlon, American Auto And the peacock Chest down.
Spitzer and Heuer work closely together Superstore And the pilot and first season went into development American Auto; Heuer serves as co-executive producer American Auto Season 2.
