Yvette Nicole Brown, Paige Kennedy and Cameron Fuller board ‘Code 3’ from Wayfarer Studios
Exclusive: Yvette Nicole Brown (isolatedPage Kennedy (sorry), and Cameron Fuller (Jatima) have joined the cast of the buddy action-comedy Code 3 opposite Rainn Wilson, Lil Reel Howery and Amy Carrero. Currently in production.
Brown plays Shanice, an experienced EMS supervisor who’s always in control — well, most of the time. She meets Randy (Wilson), someone with whom she has a colorful past. Shanice knows he’s burned out and tired, but she also knows he’s the best paramedic they’ve ever had, and she respects him for that.
Kennedy plays Officer Taggart, a police officer who often runs into Randy and Mike (Howery) in their ambulance on various calls. The Taggart system knows well and prefers that on any given call, the victim goes to the hospital, in which case it’s the paramedics’ paperwork, not her. Tagert doesn’t seem to help them when he can.
Fuller plays Jimmy, a firefighter who often works with Randy and Mike, a simple guy who doesn’t question the requests that come his way.
The film, by director Christopher Leone, follows a day in the life of Randy and Mike, two overworked, underpaid, and nearly burned-out paramedics. One is so burned out on the job that he’s forcing himself to quit, even though he first has to put in a last 24-hour shift to train his replacement. Everything that can happen at work, from the mundane to the extreme, then happens on this final, joyful day.
script for Code 3 Leon and the former Patrick are from Pianezza. Angela Cardon will oversee the Wayfarer Studio project and serve as its sole financier. Producers are Justin Baldoni and Andrew Calf for Wayfarer, Lawrence Mattis of Circle of Confusion, Matt Smith of Electro Corduroy Entertainment and Paul “Pizza” Pianezza of RealDream. Wilson and Howry will executive produce, along with Steve Sarowitz for Wayfarer and Mike Jones for Silver Hearts Productions. Megan Herring co-produced for Circle of Confusion.
